About me · Analyst portfolio

I prepare every valuation as if it had to face an investment committee tomorrow.

My name is Tomasz Stokłosa. I am a programmer by training and an investor by choice: for more than five years I have been working with my own capital, and before that I built systems for various industries, including the last three years for banking. I also ran my own real estate investment, from buying the land to the building permit. Analysing companies is something I have always wanted to do, and sharing it with you gives me great joy. Kawiarnia Rynkowa is my public portfolio: every analysis and model is on the table for you to check. In every analysis I state plainly whether I hold shares in the company, so you can judge whether I have an interest in it.

Methodology

How I work

Download a sample model (XLSX)
  1. 01

    Mechanism

Where the subject of the analysis gets its money from, who can take it away and what profitability depends on. Applies to a company, a sector and a commodity market.

  2. 02

    Data

Financial statements, industry statistics and market data from the longest period available. Where there is no history, e.g. for an IPO, I rely on the prospectus.

  3. 03

    Valuation

A method chosen to fit the subject: a DCF in three scenarios and multiples for companies, a supply and demand balance for commodities. The assumptions are always open.

  4. 04

    Monitoring

I define up front the opportunities and risks I will watch. After every report or new data I return to the model, check the assumptions and update the valuation.

Collaboration

I am looking for a analyst role.

I would be glad to talk about an internship or a job in the research department of a brokerage house, an asset manager, a bank or an economic newsroom.
